I'm going back to school!!!

I am SO excited! After four long years of being out of school I am finally able to go back!! My intentions were never to quit school but life took me in different directions and I had to take a pause from school for awhile. I finished two years at the community college I attended in Kentucky before I decided to do the Disney College Program. After spending five months in Orlando, working at Disney, I just knew I couldn't go back to living in such a small town as where I grew up. I had changed and my mind set had changed with it. Instead of going back home to Kentucky I moved in with my Grandmother in Kingsport, Tennessee. The place I live in Tennessee is still not a big city like Orlando but it is bigger than Paintsville, KY.
After moving to Tennessee I tried to get financial aid so I could go back to school. I wasn't able to get it because even though I was living away from my parents I was still considered dependent on them. I tried again the next year and still the same thing.. No aid, dependent on Parents. So, FINALLY after turning 24 in March I got to apply and got some financial aid! It took me months to get everything sorted out and ready but school is finally a reality! I have my class schedule, supplies, and am ready to start back on August 24th!! I will be attending Northeast State Community College and going for Dental Assisting. My long term goal is to eventually get my degree in Dental Hygiene.
I can't lie and say I'm not scared because I am.. I haven't been in school for so long I don't know how going back is going to settle in with my new life. I live on my own with my boyfriend now, I have a job working 37-39 hours a week, and I have bills to pay. It's going to be a lot more stressful then my first two years of going to college because then I lived with my parents and didn't work so much. I'm going to try my hardest though because I want a good paying job that will allow me to live a life without so much financial stress. I hope for success.

I've had a GREAT two days off.

Yesterday was awesome... Today was even more awesome. I love days off from work.

Yesterday Brad and I stayed in bed the majority of the day watching Bates Motel. We literally watched the whole first season in one day. Then we went to eat Chinese for dinner which was super yummy. I'm always up for some good Chinese food! We stopped by Game Stop on our way home and I bought Kingdom Hearts 3D for my Nintendo 3DS. I've never played any of the Kingdom Hearts games but I've always heard people talking about how great they were. So, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so weird when it comes to video games. I normally don't like games but when I find one I like then I REALLY LIKE IT. I've had pretty good luck with my DS. I've bought two Pokémon games, the new Luigi's Mansion, Mario and Luigi Dream Team, and Donkey Kong Country and I've really liked them all. So hopefully I'll like this one too. I'm always so reluctant to buy them because they are so expensive and there is no guarantee that I'll like it.

Today I got up sort of early and made it into town to pay my taxes by noon. My grandmother, Aunt, my two cousins and I went to eat lunch at Cheddars and then to the Mall. Apparently the store Deb is going out of business so everything in there was 50-70% off and you got an additional 10% off if you bought five or more items. I ended up getting three tops, a necklace, and a perfume for $45. I was pretty happy about that! I love catching sales! Especially now that I live on my own and have bills to pay. I'm patiently waiting for the next time Bath and Body Works has their next sale. Right after Christmas they had 75% off on three tables full of lotions, sprays, perfumes, and shower gels. I bought two lotions, two shower gels, and two body sprays for $16. I NEED THAT SALE AGAIN! I've went through lotion like crazy this winter. My skin has been so dry.

Anyway, I sort of got off topic but that's the great thing about having this blog. I love getting my thoughts out and putting them down into words. What I love even more is going back and reading about what I did weeks, months, even years ago. I still have diaries that I wrote in when I was in elementary school and ever so often I'll get them out and read them. It's so funny to relive those days so long ago. <3

Anyway, that's all for now. Brad and I are heading to Taco Bell (the happiest place on Earth).

Changes Since Last Post.

Wow, It has defiantly been awhile since I posted.

It's weird how my life works in cycles. Every January I get this huge urge to read and I'll read book after book until I'm sick of reading. EVERY.SINGLE.JANUARY! Isn't that so strange? Another example is this blog. I started this blog the 1st of March and here I am April 24th, two years later, deciding that I want to write in it again. What's up with that?

Anyway, a lot has changed since last time I posted. Brad and I moved in together FINALLY after talking about it for close to two years. I got a loan from my bank and purchased a trailer. It isn't the best BUT it's mine and I am so proud of it. Don't get me wrong it's an old trailer, it's older than I am. It needs a lot of work but for a starter home I think we did pretty good. I had A LOT of help from my family and Brad's and it meant the world to me. My family came over and helped us paint three of the rooms, they helped me clean, and bought me house warming presents. Brad's family gave us their old living room furniture and tons of silverware, pots and pans, towels, etc. We made a lot of progress but there is still many things I want to do but I'm having doing them slowly because I don't have the financial means to do everything at once. I love living with Brad, and I love having my own place.

Another good thing about buying this trailer is that it was only one trailer over from where I lived originally with my Grandma. So, I still walk down and spend time with her all the time, and I still get to see my little cousins because they live in the same trailer park as well. :) Sometimes, it's not so good of a thing -- like when I want alone time and my 6 year old cousin is banging on my door three or four times a day. Haha. Got to love her though.

I'm pretty much fully in the frame shop now at work. There is three of us that work back there and we keep to a set schedule now. I'm back there everyday. Business is extremely slow though. Sometimes I wish they'd put me out on the sales floor just to give me something to do. It's okay though because I get decent hours (35-38) and I've had two raises in the three years that I've worked there.

Brad got a job about a year ago at Golden Coral. He started off in the dish room but has since learned how to work the sauté station and the grill. He is currently trying to find a better job that will give him a better pay rate, and benefits. He will really need it if I go back to school next semester (because my hours at work will be cut so I can have time for school).

Yes, I still haven't been back to school yet. I really tried to go last year. I got all my transcripts and shot history and everything I need sent to me only to find out that I STILL didn't qualify for financial aid. The cut off to be considered INDEPENDENT by birthdate was Jan of 91 and of course I was born March of 91. Two months short of the cutoff date. SO, I should be qualified for financial aid this next semester. I'm going to reapply for financial aid sometime within the next few months and if I do qualify then I'm going to go have blood work done to prove I've had chickenpox (which is apparently a requirement in TN if you didn't get the vaccine as a child) and then fill out the application form.

Brad and I also got a puppy shortly after we moved into our trailer! Her name is Buffy and she's a Pomchi (or as some people say, a Chiranian). Her mother is half Chihuahua, half Pomeranian and her father was full blooded Pomeranian.
This is Buffy a few months ago. I don't have any recent pictures on my laptop.
Buffy is now 8 months old.

Dexter came with us for a little while but we decided he was happier at my Grandma's house so we let her keep him. The puppy wore him out always trying to play with him. We still get to see him all the time though considering my Grandma lives so close. We even take Buffy down for play dates occasionally. Dexter likes her in small doses. :P

I guess that's all for tonight.
